Our home group ministry provides opportunity each week (fall and spring) for deepening discipleship in a caring atmosphere. Our desire is to raise up quality disciples even as we build relationships with each other that will last forever. Our home groups are biblically based and consist of sharing at table each week, a teaching from God’s Word, discussion and application of God’s Word, encouragement one to another, and reaching out beyond ourselves. We are about putting down deep spiritual and relational roots together in small groups that grow, care for one another—while reaching out to others in Christ’s name.
Currently (Fall 2011) there are eight home groups active; the Cosh’s, Pennington’s, Henley’s, Strickland’s, Collins’, Thompson’s, McAllister’s, and Dodson’s homes. Each gathers at either 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evenings, or Wednesday evenings for the Cosh’s and Dodson’s groups. Each group is hosted by a family of FBCA and is guided in Bible study by church members. Four of the groups are uniquely designed for college students from both Henderson State University and Ouachita Baptist University. The Dodson’s home group is for young adults, ages 20-40(ish), and the rest are for a blended fellowship, youth through senior adult.
Our office team is available to assist in helping you get plugged into a home group. Call us at (870) 246-5587 to let us know you want to be involved in a small group—or of your interest in hosting a group in your home or serving as a group leader. The Lord has called us to love one another and to spread the Good News. We hope that you will prayerfully consider making a HOME group part of your life at FBCA.
